金惠康湖南邵东人。1980年毕业于铜仁师专，1981年在四川大学师训班学习，1986年重庆大学研修班结业，1987年赴美国学习。曾受聘为美国密歇根州大学客座研究员，贵州教育学院教授、系主任；现任广东技术师范学院(原广东民族学院)教授、院学术委员会委员，广东外语外贸大学客座教授。专著有：《贵州旅游》、JEFC & SEFC English Methodology、《跨文化交际翻译——汉英语言文化比较》、《汉英跨文化交际翻译》(获2000年贵州省社科三等奖)、Guizhou Tourism、Aspects of Guangdong Province、《中国英语》、《跨文化交际翻译》、《跨文化交际翻译续编》；另有学术论文五十余篇。
