王冠华1955年生于江苏南京，]982获山东大学历史系学士学位、1985年获南京大学历史系硕士学位。1987年赴美．并于1994年获密歇根州立大学东亚史博士学位。现任美国康涅狄格州立大学副教授，上海大学和山东大学兼职教授。主要著作有《寻求正义：1905—1906年中国民众抵制美货运动》（哈佛大学东亚研究丛书2001年英文版，江苏人民出版社2008年中文版），此外还在《历史研究》、《二十一世纪》、ChineseHistorian、JournalofAmericanEastAsianRelations等中外学术期刊上发表论文多篇。目前正在写作SeriousGames：SportsinthePeople’SRepublicofChina。

刘为1955年生。19781988年先后就读于杭州大学、南京大学、英国爱丁堡大学；1989年获南京大学历史学博士学位，后任浙江大学讲师、副教授；1992年在爱丁堡大学完成博士后研究，后任该校苏格兰中心研究员；19962000年任中国中央电视台《读书时间》栏目主持人．现任美国长岛大学环球学院中国中心主任、意大利都灵大学政治学院教授（兼）。主要研究成果有：《贵族与政党英国18世纪晚期的政党政治》（1997年，论文）、《欧洲文明：民族的融合与冲突》（1999年，参与写作）、《国际关系史》（2004年，主编）、OneState，FiveSystemsDevolutionintheUK（2001）、EnvironmentalArgumentandCulturalDifferenc（2008年，参与写作）。
